Music

The Music program focuses on developing a passion for music, as well as the confidence to perform. We have a strong emphasis on singing to help our students develop pitch, rhythm, and the ability to sing with others. Our lessons also explore a range of percussive and tuned instruments, including glockenspiel, piano, ukulele, guitar, drums and electronic music software. Beyond the classroom, students are offered a range of performance opportunities, in the form of school musicals, choirs, performance groups, film & recording, assembly presentations, and evening concerts.

 

Drama

From Prep to Year 6, the Gardenvale Drama program focuses on developing our students’ confidence, team work and social skills, as well as performance techniques and abilities. We teach students to create character and emotion using their voices, bodies and faces. We also explore play building, theatrical conventions and styles, and how technology can be used to enhance and present performance.
